Estab­lished in 2008 Friends of Chintsa is a reg­is­tered non-​profit organ­i­sa­tion based in Chintsa in the East­ern Cape of South Africa.

Friends’ vision for the Chintsa com­mu­nity is:

“a syn­er­gised, united, empow­ered and enthu­si­as­tic com­mu­nity
that tran­scends South Africa’s social and cul­tural divides where peo­ples’ actions bring com­mu­nity benefits”

Our Mis­sion Statement

Friends of Chintsa’s mis­sion is “to be a truly rep­re­sen­ta­tive com­mu­nity organ­i­sa­tion
imple­ment­ing action projects, dri­ven by local cham­pi­ons to improve socio-​economic and eco­log­i­cal oppor­tu­ni­ties for the res­i­dents of Chintsa”

  • Sports Devel­op­ment Projects

    Friends of Chintsa believes in the power of expe­ri­ence in sport to engage young peo­ple in pos­i­tive actions & rela­tion­ships and healthy lifestyle choices along with skills devel­op­ment and a love for any cho­sen sport.

  • Edu­ca­tion Projects

    Edu­ca­tion is a key focus of Friends — all projects and ini­tia­tives are needs based and work in part­ner­ship with local schools and com­mu­ni­ties in the aim of break­ing the poverty cycle through education.

  • Envi­ron­men­tal Projects

    Friends of Chintsa aims to inspire a feel­ing of pride and place in the town and vil­lage of Chintsa by encour­ag­ing care for the envi­ron­ment around us and increased aware­ness of local envi­ron­men­tal issues.

  • Social Devel­op­ment

    The Friends of Chintsa social devel­op­ment projects aim to iden­tify and address needs in the local area to bring about improved opportunities.
